All they do is win.
For the fourth straight year, the Wilmington University cheerleading team captured gold as it was named the 2015 UCA Small Coed Division II National Champions at the UCA & UDA College Cheerleading & Dance Team National Championships at the ESPN Wide World of Sports on Saturday.
The weekend started with first year team members Ryan Hertz and Kristen Basquill competing in the Coed Partner Stunt Finals on Friday night. The duo qualified fifth among the accepted 13 entries to compete at the national level.
Basquill and Hertz finished the National Championship in fifth place on Friday night, as Sam Houston State's duo of Meagan Balentine and Jesse Hulet took home the top prize. The Wildcats finished just behind duos from Morehead State, Memphis, and Georgia, as well as Sam Houston State.
The duo joined the team on Saturday for the group competition, as the Wildcats were one of six teams participating in the Small Coed Division II group.
The Wildcats needed to hit the routine the first time as this year all six teams were automatically placed into the Championship Round. And the Wildcats did just that as they beat Colorado Mesa to earn their fourth straight UCA Small Coed Division II National Championship.
Colorado Mesa finished second to the Wildcats while Midwestern State, Drury, Lee, and Westfield State round out the remaining standings.
