Ryan Rucinski Fires a Second Round 69 to Lead Wilmington Golf on Day One at the Guy Harvey Invitational

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - - Freshman Ryan Rucinski fired a 69 in the second round of the Guy Harvey Invitational to lead the Wilmington University golf team on Monday, as the team is in 18th overall after two rounds at the PGA National Champion Course.

The Wildcats shot a 304-303 in the two rounds on Monday, finishing with a 607 (+31), in the annual tournament hosted by Nova Southeastern. St. Leo leads the tournament after the first two rounds, shooting a 286-285 for a 571 (-5).

Rucinski jumped up 34 spots from the first round to the second round with his 69, finishing the day at 143 (-1). His 74 in the first round had him in a tie for 43rd overall before his 69 in the second round moved him up to a tie for ninth after the first day.

Sophomore Joey Russo was the second Wildcat scorer on Monday, as he shot a 77-75 for a 152 (+8) after the first two rounds. He is currently in a tie for 66th overall.

Junior Sam Clark improved his second round by three shots, finishing with an 80-77 for a 157 (+13). Clark is in a tie for 86th after the first day.

Junior Miguel Siercke shot a 75-82 on Monday to be placed with Clark in a tie for 86th overall at 13-over par. Senior Andreas Lunding was the final golfer on Monday for the Wildcats' team, shooting a 78-87 for a 165 (+21). He is in 97th after the first day.

Playing as an individual, junior Troy Miller shot a 77-76 on Monday, finishing with a 153 (+9) to sit in a tie for 71st overall.

North Alabama's Forrest Knight and St. Leo's Joey Savoie lead the field of 100 golfers after both finishing with a five-under par day. Knight went 71-68 for his 139 while Savoie shot a 67-72 for his 139.

The Wildcats are paired with Armstrong State for the third and final round on Tuesday, as all six golfers will be teeing off at 8:30 a.m. to close out the Guy Harvey Invitational.
