NEW CASTLE, Del. – Down 4-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning, Luke Johnson gave the Wildcats the first lead of the game with a three-run home run, which helped them defeat No. 9 Millersville, 10-6, in their final game of the regular season at Wilson Field on Tuesday.

The Marauders got out to a fast start in the top of the first inning, as they hit two doubles in the inning, scoring two runs before heading into the Wildcats' first at bats. In the bottom half of the inning, Quintin Ivy got a run back on a solo home run out to left center to make it a 2-1 ballgame. Millersville would try to extend their lead in the third and fourth inning, adding two more runs, including a solo homerun in the top of the fourth to take a 4-1 lead.

In the bottom of the fourth, Eddie Nevins and Max Carney would get on with singles through both sides of the infield to bring up Dan Hyatt with two outs. Hyatt would clear the bases with a double to left center to bring the lead to within one, making it 4-3.

Matt Frost would relieve Mike Cottrell in the top of the fifth inning and retire the side, including a strikeout to end the Marauders at bats. In the bottom half of the inning, Dakota Graham would get the inning started as he would take one for the team, before Kendall Small drew a one out walk and force Millersville into a pitching change. Now with two outs, Luke Johnson, who hit three home runs Sunday, hits a ball out over the left field fence for the three-run home run to give WilmU their first lead of the game, making it 6-4 in favor of the Wildcats.

Ryan Bradigan would pitch the sixth for the Wildcats and strand a runner on second as he was able to get the final out of the inning. WilmU would score three more runs on four hits in the bottom of the sixth, including a two-run double from Quintin Ivy to make it an 8-4 ballgame. Kendall Small would follow right behind Ivy with a single to center to score Ivy and extend the lead to 9-4.

Small would go in for Danny Sullivan in the top of the eighth and get three straight outs, including two strikeouts after walking his first batter.

Zach Frederick would come and in the top of the ninth and allow two runs (one earned), but get out of the inning, ending the ballgame on a groundout to third.

Nine pitchers would be used for the game for the Wildcats, but Matt Frost would get the win with his scoreless fifth inning and one strikeout. Sean Deely got the start, allowing two hits and two runs, with two strikeouts. Kendall Small had two strikeouts, while Mike Cottrell, Ryan Bradigan, and Danny Sullivan all had one strikeout.

Quintin Ivy, Max Carney, and Dan Hyatt all went 2-for-4 in the game. Ivy had a double and a solo home run for three RBI, as Hyatt had a double and two RBI. Luke Johnson's homerun would give him three RBI in the game, as Kendall Small and Matt Stepnoski had one RBI. Mitchell Leslie went 2-for-3 for WilmU.
