The Wildcats overcame a slow start to overtake Chestnut Hill, 70-63, with a hot shooting second half on Wednesday for Senior Night. Prior to the game, the fans program recognized Brian Adkins, Taj Almon, Drew Johnson II, and Tyaire Ponzo-Meek for all their work while donning the green and white. All four of em showed up on Wednesday night, as Ponzo-Meek led the team with 19 points despite not hitting a shot from the field in the first half. Johnson hit three three-pointers for 16 points while Adkins hit a big three-pointer to start the second half and tie the game. Almon added to the hot start in the second half with a big block, finishing the game with three blocks, six points, and five boards. A 7-0 run gave the Wildcats a 42-40 lead before another 5-0 run ended a 12-2 spurt to put the Wildcats on top for good, 47-42, halfway through the second half. The Wildcats are tied for second and only a game behind Philadelphia for first place in the CACC South Division with two games to play. Those two games are against Goldey-Beacom (tied for second) and Philadelphia (first place) to end the regular season. Copyright 2017; Wilmington University. All rights reserved.
