NEWARK, Del. - - Two more wins have allowed the Wilmington University men's soccer's team to stay put at No. 3 in the latest United Soccer Coaches East Region and move up to No. 15 in the Division II National Poll, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
The Wildcats improved to 8-0 on the year with a pair of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference wins last week, defeating Georgian Court, 8-1, on Wednesday, and Dominican, 5-0, on Saturday.
The top of the East Region remains the same, as Adelphi and Mercy also remain unbeaten in 2019. Adelphi also remains at No. 1 in the National Poll his week while Mercy moved up one spot to No. 8.
In the East Region, Assumption moved up a spot to No. 4 while Franklin Pierce did the same up to No. 5. Newcomer to the poll and CACC foe Post is slotted No. 6 this week while Le Moyne dropped three spots down to No. 7. Saint Rose slid one spot to No. 8 this week while Bentley rejoins the group at No. 9. Rounding out the poll this week is Molloy who fell a spot to No. 10.
Nationally, Adelphi remains at No. 1 while Azusa Pacific moves up a spot to take over No. 2. Maryville University of St. Louis moves up three spots to No. 3 while Gannon moves up four to take over No. 4. CSU-Los Angeles rounds out this week's Top 5.
The Wildcats head to CACC foe Holy Family on Wednesday before returning home to take on newly regionally ranked Post on Saturday at the WU Athletics Complex.
