NEWARK, Del. – Kelly Robbins was the first to get on the board for the Wilmington University women's soccer team as it defeated Nyack College, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon at the WU Athletic Complex.
Wilmington controlled the ball from the Warriors for majority of the first half before Robbins started the scoring in the 10th minute, making it her second goal of the season. Krysta Memis made it a 2-0 game when teammate Lina Boussif set her up with a centering ball in the middle to give Memis her first goal of the season.
A minute later, Jessica Unsihuay saved the ball from going out of bounds and centered it to La'Dae Boykin in front of the net to take a 3-0 lead into halftime. Unsihuay got back on the board in the 79th minute for her second and third points of the game and fourth goal of the season.
Nyack's first shot did not come until the second half on a ball from Brooklyn McFadden. Warriors' goalkeeper, Nicole Benesch made 11 saves on 15 shots on goal.
Goalkeeper Kate Tubo faced four shots on goal, saving each one to help lead her team to the shutout.
